The exchange program
Students can take part in an exchange with the international Life Science program at HAN either for one or for two semester. The fifth semester is comprised by two courses: Virology and Carcinogenesis; the sixth semester is dedicated entirely to the practical training. Most students do their practical training at research laboratories in the Netherlands, e.g. in Nijmegen or Amsterdam. However, it is also possible to come back to Germany for the practical training as long as you remained enrolled at HAN.
The degree
Bachelor in Life Science for a successful stay of two semesters.
To qualify for the exchange program with HAN you have to ...have passed all modules and courses of the first and second semester successfully and have passed our English courses or were considered fluent enough to choose a different language. The final admission is based on your performance during the 3rd and 4th semester!
University Facts
HAN strives to be one of the top universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. With campuses in both Arnhem and Nijmegen, in the east of the Netherlands, HAN has over 29,000 students. Just like our university, HAN also has only recently been established, hence all buildings, laboratories and facilities are very well equipped and up-to-date. Our students enroll in the international Life Science program on the Nijmegen campus.
City Facts
Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands, yet due to the many students who live there its flair is absolutely vibrant and young. The river Waal runs through the city and a beautiful waterfront invites people to take a stroll. The city center is not that large, yet full of cafes, bistros and pubs that mainly cater to the young crowd (10% of the 160,000 citizens are students!).
