Study Buddies

Become a Study Buddy.

Arriving, being welcome and feeling at home: to make our new international students feel this way, the Department of Natural Sciences has established a Study Buddy program.

What is a Study Buddy?

A buddy is someone who lends an ear and a helping hand. The Study Buddies at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University are students in higher semesters who look after newly arrived students during their first weeks here in Rheinbach. This might involve contacting them via email, picking them up at the airport or the train station, explaining the pitfalls of the German registration procedures, showing them around the university or simply sharing a coffee and chatting about last weekend's football matches...

Study Buddies work on a voluntary basis, simply because they like interacting with other people and out of curiosity for different culture.

Seminar Intercultural Training

To prepare you not only for the upcoming tasks as study buddy but also for your own stay abroad at one of our partner universities the International Office organized a seminar on intercultural training/intercultural competence. This seminar is expected to take place on 01/02 June, 2012 here in Rheinbach and will be performed by two trainers specialized in intercultural communications.

We thank you ...

... for taking part in this project - not only by offering you the seminar but also by attesting your participation in this intercultural project with an official certificate- a document that can be useful for application for grants, at international universities etc.
